PLC new development status and trend
There are two main trends in the development of modern PLC: one is the development of small size, fast speed, strong function and low price; The second is the development of large-scale networking, high reliability, good compatibility and multi-function.
(1) Large-scale networking is mainly developed in the direction of DCS, so that it has some functions of DCS system. Strong networking and communication capabilities are an important aspect of PLC development, and multiple PLCS and I/O frameworks can be connected down. It is connected with industrial computer, Ethernet, MAP network, etc. to form the automation control system of the whole factory.
(2) With the emergence of self-adjustment, stepper motor control, position control, servo control and other modules, the field of PLC control is expanded.
For example, as early as the 1980s, the company developed a multi-loop closed-loop control module, stepper motor control module, simulation module and communication processing module. In 1995 and successfully developed the S7200, S7300 series, it has TD 200 and COROS OPS operation template (OPS) to provide users with a convenient man-machine interface, user program three-level password protection, strong computing power, perfect instruction set, MPI interface and network capability via industrial fieldbus PROFIBUS and Ethernet networking, strong internal integration function, comprehensive fault diagnosis function; Modular structure can be used for energy expansion, pulse output thyristor stepper motor and DC motor; Fast instruction processing greatly shortens the cycle time, and high-speed counters are used, and high-speed interrupt processing can respond to process events separately, significantly reducing costs.
(3) High reliability Because the reliability of the control system has been paid more and more attention, some companies have widely applied self-diagnosis technology, redundancy technology, fault tolerance technology to existing products, launched a highly reliable redundant system, and the use of hot standby or parallel work, majority voting mode of work. The S7400 PLC’s robust, fully sealed formwork works even in harsh, unstable operating environments and can be hot-swappable during operation.
